Why did you join Berkeley?
I loved my first job at Accenture – but Berkeley offered me the opportunity for more: more development, as I stretched into bigger roles with greater partner support; more variety, as I was no longer expected to specialise in only one type of work; and more freedom, as I was given the autonomy to act as a trusted advisor to my clients.
My experience has borne this out, as I have revelled in a broad range of critical, complex and challenging work. But more than that, it’s been such fun. We have a vibrant social scene and invest loads of time and energy in creating a friendly culture where everyone can be themselves and fit in.
2 What types of engagements excite you the most?
My specialism is working closely with senior clients to help them address their most difficult challenges: shaping and delivering critical business and technology change initiatives; developing business strategies they can really believe in; and managing stakeholders, teams and third parties to find the best way to achieve results.
I love the variety of consulting life – and continue to feel a thrill at starting at a new client. I have worked across many sectors, with a focus in recent years that spreads across retail, consumer goods, manufacturing, waste management, transport, logistics and policing.
3 What might people be interested in knowing about you?
Outside work, I am married to Charlotte, with two boys Rory and Hector; a Labrador, Phoebe; and two cats, Kit and Moneypenny! When I get the chance, I am kept busy by involvement in a church charity in the City, drinking good English beer and following the Scotland rugby team from one triumph to another.
